Information
Introduction
At the foot of Mt. Namsan in Gyeongju is a triad of Buddhas with a smile like a child.
‘Standing Stone Buddha Triad in Baedong’ was erected in its current location in 1923 by collecting scattered stones.
Buddha Triad means three Buddha statues, and standing means a Buddha statue that expresses the appearance of a standing Buddha.
The elaborately carved statues of Buddha are mysterious as they feel the warmth from their round faces and bodies.
It is considered a representative work of Buddhist sculpture in the 7th century Silla.
