Introduction
Columnar joints are hexagonal stone pillars that typically form in volcanic rock areas. In Yangnam, Gyeongju, various columnar joint shapes were discovered and designated as natural monuments in September 2012.
Among them, the fan-shaped columnar joints are the most famous. It is great to look down at this scenery from the observatory or walk along the 1.7 km coastal promenade.
