Hwangseong Park was once a training ground for Hwarang during the Silla Dynasty.
It is the largest park in downtown Gyeongju and is beloved by its citizens as a peaceful resting place.
The park features a beautiful harmony of tall old trees and pine forests, creating a tranquil atmosphere.
Within the park, visitors can enjoy the civic playground, indoor gym, city library, Chunghon Tower, and Horimjeong Pavilion, a national archery field.
On the hill behind Horimjeong Pavilion stands a 16-meter-tall statue of General Kim Yu-sin.
In August, the park is adorned with the stunning purple colony of Maekmundong, adding to the park's beauty.
