In the < the Smart Tourism City, Gyeongju> Tourist Model Contest, a group of 3 members, Liz & Seoyoung & Hyejin, were selected under the team name Naepdura. As individuals who love freedom and challenges, they have left behind their familiar environments and formed a new bond in Gyeongju, a completely different place. They met through participation in the 'Gyeongju Gajami Village,' a youth village support project organized by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security.
In the previous part, we introduced the story of Seoyoung and Hyejin, lifelong friends who settled in Gyeongju. Now, they are embarking on a journey to the Gyeongju coast, joined by their final team member, Liz. The complete team of "Naepdura" sets off to create unforgettable memories in the scorching summer days at Gampo in Gyeongju.
We hop on the Gyeongju Bus 100, which took us, who don't have a car, to Gampo, to relive those moments. We explore the memories of the beach, the alleyways of the fishing village, and the breakwater. Along the way, we capture the beauty of various stunning destinations along the Gyeongju East Coast. The sea stretching out in front of the Songdaemal Lighthouse has also gained popularity as a snorkeling spot during the summer. Let's create memories at the vibrant Songdaemal Lighthouse with its diverse attractions and recreational activities.

The bustling harbor where boats come and go, and where history and stories coexist in every alley. It's a place full of authenticity and charm.
On the southern breakwater of the harbor, you'll find a stunning white lighthouse designed in the style of a three-story stone pagoda.
From the breakwater, you can capture a panoramic view of the endless expanse of the East Sea on one side and overlook the picturesque Gampo Port on the other side

Gampho Haeguk-gil Trail
Throughout the Haeguk Mural Trail, you can find old Japanese-style houses called Jeoksang Gaok that were built during the Japanese colonial period when Japanese people immigrated to the area. These houses stand as a reminder of the pain and hardships of that time. Take a contemplative walk through the alleyways, immersing yourself in reflection.
There is also a picturesque photo spot along the Haeguk Trail called the Haeguk Staircase Photo Zone, where you can capture beautiful memories.

The caves are natural artworks sculpted by waves and time. The pathways created in the coastal cliffs, which give the impression that dragons once roamed through them, have a mysterious allure. They have gained attention as a popular spot for capturing memorable photos, often featured on social media.
This place is also known as a great spot to admire the rising sun over the East Sea.

King Munmu, a key figure in the unification of the Three Kingdoms, declared that even in death, he would become the dragon of the East Sea and protect the nation. In accordance with his final wishes, he was buried in the East Sea as a resting place.
The tomb of King Munmu is widely recognized as a popular place for making wishes. Although it is currently restricted and not easily accessible, in the past, it was believed to be a spiritually powerful site, and it was not uncommon to witness scenes of people performing rituals and making offerings at the site
Indeed, the Tomb of King Munmu is also famous as a sunrise spot where people come to make New Year's wishes. Let us gather in front of the Tomb of King Munmu and express our heartfelt wishes, each in our way.

The stone artifacts resembling drainage facilities in the basement of Geumdang attract attention. According to folklore, these devices were created by King Munmu, who transformed into a sea dragon, allowing him to move freely in and out of the temple. The presence of the two three-story stone pagodas guarding the temple grounds evokes a sense of grandeur and awe. These pagodas, known for their elegant and proportionate beauty, receive high praise as exemplary towers from the Unified Silla period.
